Luna

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

After projects such as “Chicas Producidas” and Lipstick1, Luna was a film project executed in direct collaboration with the trans community in Argentina. This short film is the combined work of University of Buenos Aires film students, and a community of trans women, whose credits range from writer to performer to crewmember.

The director, having participated in educational workshops for the trans community during his research, decided on a similar workshop model for the production of Luna. Improvisation and writing talleres eventually gave way to a series of monologues and vignette pieces, some of which were eventually woven into a short narrative:

Lost in the streets of Buenos Aires, a curious boy finds Luna, a young travesti who decides to take him home, lest he wander the dark alleyways of Constitución alone. Though Luna and the boy seem to have something in common, their fleeting, unlikely friendship meets a likely obstacle: his mother.

This project was produced by Ayelen Mattaini, and supported by the Yale University Art Gallery. Starring Christina Leiva and Julian Musetti. Runtime: 9 minutes. Complete list of credits to follow.
